This bill (S.5299-A/A.1741-A) requires health plans/PBMs to count all 3rd party assistance toward a patient’s out-of-pocket cost obligations. This keeps patients from receiving surprise bills for out-of-pocket costs they thought were paid for by the assistance. It bans copay accumulators and allows qualified patients to get the assistance they need.
The bill previously passed in the Senate and we are confident it will pass again, but we need your help to ask Assembly leadership to bring the bill to the floor for a vote!
