Patient Safety Webinar
The New York City Hemophilia Chapter hosted a webinar on Tuesday, October 29, 2019 to provide our community with an overview of recent safety news for people with bleeding disorders.
The format was designed to allow patients an opportunity to share their perspective on what these safety updates have meant from them personally. We discussed how the community heard about the recall or update and the steps they took after hearing.
Here are the recent safety information we covered:
- Genentech’s update on particles in Hemlibra
- Genentech Foundations shipment of the wrong needle sizes
- Bayer’s recall of 990 viles of Kogenate fs
- CSL’s recall of Mononine
Participants heard from other patients that have been part of recent recalls or safety updates. We also provided an update from the drug manufacturers about how they are addressing these issues. A panel of HTC physicians were on the call to provide guidance and answer questions.
