For me, the Unite Walk is more than just a single day—it’s a reflection of the strength, connection, and spirit that define the bleeding disorders community.

The Unite Walk is all about community—meeting new people, reconnecting, and spending meaningful time together while raising awareness and support. There’s something really powerful about being surrounded by people who understand and uplift one another.

I’ve been involved with the New York City Hemophilia Chapter (NYCHC) for almost two years, after first being introduced to the chapter through the National Bleeding Disorders Foundation’s Annual Washington Days event. While my formal introduction to the chapter may be recent, my connection to the bleeding disorder community goes back much further. I have hemophilia myself, and I’ve been apart of the bleeding disorders community for my entire life. Getting involved with NYCHC felt like coming full circle—an opportunity to give back to a community that has given me so much over the years.

I’ve really tried to embrace the opportunity to engage more deeply with the community—whether that’s attending events, participating in programs, or now serving as Captain of Team Eglow for the Unite Walk. It’s been incredibly rewarding to build relationships and be part of something that has such a strong and positive impact.

NYCHC truly feels like family to me. The support and connection here are something really special. It’s not just about the events—it’s about the relationships you build and the sense of belonging that comes with it.

Being able to share this experience with my own family has made it even more meaningful. It’s a chance for us to come together, support one another, and be part of something bigger than ourselves.

As Team Captain, I’m excited to help bring people together for this year’s Unite Walk—whether you’ve been involved for years or are just learning about the community for the first time.

If you’re thinking about joining, this is your sign. Whether you’re walking, volunteering, or cheering others on, it’s an incredible way to be part of it. There’s truly a place for everyone here.
