1a Conferencia latina ‘Unidos por la Sangre’
El fin de semana del 14 y 15 de Octubre tuvimos la oportunidad de celebrar el mes de la Herencia Hispana por 1a vez juntos el Chapter de NY (NYCHC) y el Chapter de NJ (HANJ) con una conferencia para la comunidad de habla hispana ‘Unidos por la Sangre’ en el hotel Hilton Newark Airport en Elizabeth, NJ.
Este evento permitió que la comunidad participara en sesiones totalmente en español. Estuvo lleno de actividades para adultos, adolescentes y niños; donde aprendimos juntos, conocimos nuevas familias, disfrutamos una banda de mariachis y bailamos juntos gracias a Mily, Harry y Omar Cepeda que ofrecieron generosamente ser el DJ del evento. Hubo muchas risas y abrazos a lo largo del fin de semana con las que nos quedamos para siempre.
Agradecemos también a los voluntarios que nos ayudaron el fin de semana entre los que se encuentran: Aaron Salinas (fotógrafo), Alexa Cuevas & Isabella Salazar (actividades de los niños); Maria Vera, Hermila Rincon y Xochilt Rivas por estar a cargo del registro de las familias; y a todos los que siempre estuvieron ahí para ayudarnos.

1st Latino Conference ‘Unidos por la Sangre’
On the weekend of October 14th and 15th, the latino communities of NYCHC & HANJ had the opportunity to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month for the 1st time together with a conference for our Spanish-speaking community called ‘Unidos por la Sangre’ at the Hilton Newark Airport in Elizabeth, NJ.
This event allowed the community to participate in sessions entirely in Spanish. It was full of activities for adults, teenagers and children; where we learned together, met new families, enjoyed a mariachi band and danced together thanks to Mily, Harry and Omar Cepeda who generously offered to be the DJ for the event. There were many laughs and hugs throughout the weekend that we will cherish forever.
We also thank the volunteers who helped us over the weekend, including: Aaron Salinas (photographer), Alexa Cuevas & Isabella Salazar (children’s activities), Maria Vera, Hermila Rincon and Xochilt Rivas for being in charge of registering the families, and to everyone who was always there to help us.
