Mike Gulbin, a seasoned IT Ecommerce Executive with over 20 years of global experience, serves on the New York City Hemophilia Chapter (NYCHC) Board of Directors. His son’s diagnosis of Hemophilia B in 2018, at the age of eight, came as an unexpected challenge, with no family history of the disorder. This diagnosis was particularly distressing as it followed a series of misdiagnoses, despite frequent hospital visits for his son’s bleeding episodes.

Through his involvement with NYCHC, beginning with the Unite for Bleeding Disorders Walk, Mike found a platform to not only support his son but also to advocate for broader awareness of bleeding disorders. His advocacy focuses on enlightening the medical community and parents about the realities of living with a bleeding disorder, emphasizing the importance of early and accurate diagnosis.

Mike’s commitment extends to ensuring that families facing similar situations receive the necessary support, both emotionally and financially. He actively works towards making sure that the experiences available to children without bleeding disorders are accessible to all children with bleeding disorders too, fostering a sense of normalcy and empowerment.

In his role on the board, Mike combines his professional acumen in technology and data management with his personal experience, aiming to enhance the chapter’s outreach and resource availability. His advocacy within the medical community and among parents is a testament to his dedication to changing the narrative around bleeding disorders, ensuring that no family navigates this path alone.
