The NYCHC Annual Education Day is an exciting day of exhibits, workshops, panels, and fun for members of the bleeding disorders community. This free event is a day-long celebration that culminates in a Holiday Party starting Santa Claus! The 2016 Education Day and Holiday Party was held at the Crowne Plaza, Times Square on Sunday, November 20, 2016.
The 2017 Education Day and Holiday Party will be on Sunday, November 19, 2017 at the New York Marriott Marquis in the heart of Times Square!
Education Day brought hundreds of people together to learn, grow, explore, and have fun at the Crowne Plaza Times Square Hotel. Starting the day with a light breakfast, NYCHC committees gathered together to plan for the 2017 year. The highlight of the day was a morning Infusion Party, where participants infused together and learned to infuse. Our very own Santa Claus even infused!
Attendees then broke out into sessions featuring pain management, sports injuries, bleeding disorder camps, identifying bleeds and more. An afternoon panel with local practitioners Drs. Acharya, McGuin, and Walsh allowed attendees to gain insight on present and future treatment trends for bleeding disorders. After lunch, another set of breakout sessions took place, this time featuring workshops on financial aid, joint protection, factor and its purpose, and perspectives on VWD, among others.
We ended the day’s activities with a Holiday Party featuring breakdancers, a super fun photo booth, and Santa and his elves handing out gifts to the kids.
