Hemophilia Walk Kickoff Breakfast
Melissa Penn, New York City Hemophilia Chapter’s Founder and President, has been named “New Yorker of the Week” by NY1, a popular all-news television station carried by Time Warner Cable in New York City. NY1 selects a different local resident to profile each week, highlighting their efforts to better the lives of other New Yorkers. This week, they’ve chosen Melissa and she will be featured in an on-air segment that will start running Friday night, May 13 and will continue airing hourly throughout the weekend. The piece will focus on Melissa’s dedicated work on behalf of New Yorkers affected by bleeding disorders, including her role as the creator and co-chair of the oldest and largest Hemophilia Walk in the country. This year’s Walk will take place on June 5th in Riverside Park.

If you do not receive NY1 at home, you can watch the segment on their website at www.ny1.com where it will remain available for several months.

If you saw the segment about Melissa, please consider supporting our Walk benefiting education and research leading to better treatments and a cure. You can sponsor Melissa, sponsor another walker or team, or sign up to walk yourself. It’s a great day of fun with food, music, entertainment and more – and you don’t need to know someone with a bleeding disorder to help!
