Val Bias, Marilyn Ness will Participate in Blood Donations Panel on October 18th in New York City

Filmmaker Marilyn Ness, NHF CEO Val Bias
and Nathan Schaefer of GMHC will be
among participants on October 18th panel.
On Tuesday, October 18th from 6:00 – 7:30pm, GMHC, one of the largest organizations serving people affected by HIV and AIDS, will host a panel discussion on possible revisions to the guidelines for blood donations, particularly with regard to the current ban on donations from gay men.  
 The panel, which will be held at GMHC’s headquarters on West 33rd street, will be hosted by Marilyn Ness, producer and director of “BAD BLOOD: A Cautionary Tale.” Participating will be Val Bias, Chief Executive Officer of the National Hemophilia Foundation along with other speakers.  The safety of blood and blood products are an ongoing concern for this community so it is important that we stay engaged, monitor potential changes and voice our views and concerns.
