Camp High Hopes

Bleeding Disorder + Brothers Camp, Boys Only

Location: Greig, NY

Application Due: Applications available on camp website.

Website: http://www.camphighhopes.org/index.html

“Camp High Hopes Inc. was originally founded with only one goal; to provide a summer camp program for boys with hemophilia.  The Camp High Hopes Program is a week long summer camp that has been serving boys ages 7-17 with hemophilia for over 25 years.

Today, the camp serves more than just boys with hemophilia.  Boys with any bleeding disorder are welcome at High Hopes so long as we can provide the level of care they need for a safe and fun week.  We also now accept male siblings of children with bleeding disorders as the disorder effects the entire family, not just an individual.”

Camp Little Oak

Bleeding Disorder + Sisters Camp, Girls Only

Location: Greig, NY

Website: https://camplittleoak.org/

“Camp Little Oak is a non-profit, week-long summer camp for girls with bleeding disorders.  As space permits, we also have campers who carry bleeding disorders, or are a sibling to someone with a bleeding disorder.  Girls bleed too!  So, why don’t they have their own camp? At Camp Little Oak, we make a special place for girls with bleeding disorders, letting girls confront their bleeding disorders (just like boys), but also the unique parts of being a girl with a bleeding disorder.  We want all girls with bleeding disorders to know that they are not alone, there are others just like them.”

Application Due: Applications available on camp website.

Website: http://www.comphealthed.com/index.php/education-programs/inhib/

“There are currently over 50 camps across the country that serve the bleeding disorders community; however, none address the unique needs of those living with inhibitors. Until now…

This program offers a full weekend of education, support, and fun designed specifically for children with hemophilia and active inhibitors. Because we understand the value of having a tight-knit unit of support behind these children, Inhibitor Family Camp is also geared towards the entire immediate family.”
